This my submission for the Kula Cloth 2025 Design Contest. For those unfamiliar, Kula Cloths are innovative, reusable antimicrobial pee cloths designed to reduce waste and promote sustainability in the outdoors—an awesome, eco-friendly alternative for adventurers who care about leaving no trace.
Although my design wasn’t selected as a winner, I’m incredibly proud of what I created. My concept was rooted in the deep, personal connection we share with the natural world. To capture that bond, I illustrated a woman embracing a tree—an image meant to symbolize harmony, gratitude, and respect for nature.
The figure is nude, representing vulnerability and authenticity, with her undergarments playfully tossed into the branches alongside a few Kula Cloths. Surrounding her are small woodland creatures and insects, adding a sense of life and interconnectedness to the scene.
The design also includes the powerful reminder to “leave no trace,” a core principle of outdoor ethics that aligns perfectly with Kula Cloth’s mission. I chose a soft, earthy, and feminine color palette to reflect both the nurturing spirit of the outdoors and the practical elegance of the product.
